Winchester Citizens Advice Bureau
The Winchester CAB is an independent service providing free, confidential, impartial advice on a wide range of subjects to everybody regardless of race, sex, disability, sexuality or nationality. We are part of the largest advice-giving network in the UK.
Advice
Our staff can work with you to sort out debt worries and claim all the benefits you may be entitled to. We can help with housing and employment problems, or deal with queries about consumer or tax issues. We can advise on legal matters, answer questions about immigration, and we have lots of experience on family and personal matters too. Winchester CAB acts as a one-stop-shop for advice. Our Approach
Our advisers won't tell you what to do, but will explain your options and the possible outcomes of different courses of action. You will be encouraged to make your own decisions and act on your own behalf. We will enable you to manage your own problems by focusing on your specific needs and providing you with relevant and up to date information to resovle your problems.

Our advisers use advisernet our internet based information system (not available on the web) which is regularly updated . This helps to ensure that advisers provide the most up to date and accurate advice to those calling on our services

Local Projects
Winchester Citizens Advice Bureau operates a number of local projects to provide the Winchester community with an enhanced service. These include a home visiting service, a money advice workers taking referrals from a2winchester Housing and Winchester City Council, a fortnightly county court advice desk for possession hearings both for rent and mortgages, weekly advice session at H M Prison Winchester, legal advice sessions, and a number of specialist advisors. more...

As a registered charity, we are largely dependent on a work force of trained volunteers with a small number of paid staff.
